Mike Bates has been in radio since 1980. The above photo of him in front of Air Force One was taken at the Havana International Airport in 2016 when he accompanied President Barack Obama on his visit to Cuba as part of the Official White House Press Corps.

On the Mike Bates Show, Mike focuses on the facts when sharing his insight and analysis of politics and current events.

Approaching from the perspective of a constitutional libertarian (note the lower case “l”), Mike challenges the binary “my team good; your team bad” partisanship of most commentators.  He says the real battle in America is not right versus left.  It is right versus wrong.  And usually both parties are wrong.

Mike hates the dishonest reporting of today’s so-called “journalists,” who are really just activists spewing propaganda that supports their agendas.  But that doesn’t necessarily mean it is “fake news.”  Dishonesty occurs through editorial decisions to cover only one side of an issue, and through permitting one side to say whatever they want without rebuttal.  A big part of The Mike Bates Show is telling the rest of the story that you won’t hear anywhere else.  And he is always careful to put everything into proper historical context based on sound constitutional principles.

The Mike Bates Show airs live on WPNN 103.7 FM & 790 AM every Saturday from 7:00am - 8:00am (CT).  All episodes are archived on the Podcasts page.  Mike’s Blog is updated as often as he believes current events or issues deserve it.

While Mike has strong opinions and is not afraid to share them, he respects the opinions of others if - and only if - they are based upon reason, logic, and facts.

The Mike Bates Show is about both facts and opinions.  If you listen to his show and read his blog, you’ll have more facts when you form your own opinions.
